AGREEMENT BETWEEN SOUND JUSTICE INITIATIVE AND EDUCATION PATHWAY PROGRAM PARTICIPANT

This Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by and between Sound Justice Initiative, a non-profit organization with its

**1. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES** **1.1 Attendance and Participation** The Participant shall attend all scheduled appointments, meetings, and programs as agreed upon between SJI and the Participant. The Participant acknowledges that regular attendance and active participation are essential to their successful reentry and personal development. **1.2 Behavior and Conduct** The Participant shall conduct themselves in a respectful and cooperative manner during all interactions with SJI staff, community members, and other program participants. The Participant understands that disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in termination of SJI services, in accordance with the policies and procedures established by SJI. **1.3 Communication** The Participant shall maintain open communication with SJI staff and shall promptly inform SJI of any changes in contact information or living arrangements that may affect their participation in the program.

**2. OBLIGATIONS OF SOUND JUSTICE INITIATIVE** **2.1 Support Services** SJI shall provide support services to assist the Participant in their reentry process, including access to resources, counseling, educational support, and referrals to community programs, subject to available resources. **2.2 Confidentiality** SJI shall maintain the confidentiality of Participant information in accordance with its internal policies and best practices in client confidentiality, to the extent permitted by law. **2.3 Program Development** SJI shall strive to develop and improve its Education Pathway Program to best serve the needs of its participants and the community.

**3. TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT** **3.1 Termination by Participant** The Participant may terminate this Agreement at any time by providing written notice to SJI. **3.2 Termination by SJI** SJI reserves the right to terminate this Agreement if the Participant materially fails to comply with the terms outlined in Section 1, as determined by SJI in its sole discretion and in accordance with its established policies and procedures. SJI shall provide written notice of termination and may, at its discretion, offer guidance on alternative services or resources.

**4. MISCELLANEOUS** **4.1 Governing Law** This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. **4.2 Entire Agreement** This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between SJI and the Participant regarding the subject matter herein and supersedes all prior agreements, whether written or oral. **4.3 Amendments** This Agreement may be amended only by a written instrument executed by both SJI and the Participant.
